Except for the choice from Ecclesiastical State, four centuries after he had become the Archbishop of Split, Dominis’ works were translated and published in this book for the first time.While making choice for this first book of M. A. de Dominis’ works published in Croatian language, our wish was to make our reader fully experience Dominis. This is why you can find here his legal advice to the Republic of Venice in the dispute with the Pope in 1606, the extract from his main work On Ecclesiastical State, part of minor works that had drawn the attention of Europe and, finally, The Second Proclamation, penitence, which resulted in an agreement with the Pope to be allowed to return back to Rome.
